Reputation & Public Relations

Public Relations

Public relations for New Jersey businesses that want to be known and trusted. We find the stories in your business, pitch them to the reporters and podcast hosts your customers follow, and help you get the most from every mention.

What We Deliver

Public Relations That Gets Your Story Into the News

Many customers already have a short list of names they trust before they ever search. Some of those names come from ads. However, many come from places you can't simply buy. Think of a story in the local paper, a quote in a trade magazine or a guest spot on a podcast. Public relations is how you earn those mentions, and it isn't only for big brands.

Our public relations service covers the whole job. First, we dig out the stories in your business that a reporter would actually want. Then we build a short, targeted list of the journalists, editors and podcast hosts who reach your customers. Next, we write the pitches and press materials, follow up politely and help you prepare for interviews. At no point do we blast the same email to hundreds of strangers.

Our Approach

Why Earned Media Carries More Weight Than an Ad

An ad is you talking about yourself, and people know it. A news story is different, because an editor chose to run it. That outside judgment is what makes coverage persuasive. So when a local reporter writes about your new location or quotes you on an industry trend, readers see a business worth paying attention to.

That trust only holds if the coverage is honest, though. Sponsored articles have their place, but the FTC's guide to native advertising makes clear that an ad shouldn't pose as independent content. So we keep paid and earned media separate, and we always tell you which is which.

Finding the Story Reporters Want to Tell

Good coverage starts with an angle, not a sales pitch. Reporters don't cover a business just because it exists. Instead, they cover news, useful expertise and stories their readers care about. For example, a family bakery in Montclair might have a story in its old family recipes, while an HVAC company in Toms River could share practical tips before a heat wave.

Press releases still have a job, especially for real news such as an opening, an expansion or a community event. But a release on its own rarely earns a story. That's why we pair each one with a personal pitch to the right reporter. Our guide to press releases that reporters actually use explains the format we follow.

Podcasts deserve a spot in the plan, too. According to Pew Research Center, 54% of U.S. adults said in 2025 that they had listened to a podcast in the past year. A guest spot on a show your buyers follow puts you in front of a ready-made audience. You can see how that works in our guide to podcast guesting.

What Public Relations Can Do for Your SEO

Online coverage sometimes includes a link back to your website. A link from a respected news or trade site can help search engines see you as a real, established business. Even without a link, the story itself is proof you can show new visitors. For instance, an "As Seen In" strip with outlets that genuinely covered you can reassure people who have never heard of you.

Not every link helps, however. Google's spam policies list paid links, and links with keyword-rich anchor text in press releases sent out to other sites, as link spam. So we never buy links or stuff anchor text into wire releases. Instead, we go after real editorial mentions, which also support the work of our SEO team.

What You Get

What Our Public Relations Service Includes

📰

Media Pitching and Placements

We pitch your story to reporters, editors and bloggers who cover your industry or your town. Each pitch speaks to that person's beat, so it reads like a note rather than a blast.

✍️

Press Releases Worth Reading

We write releases for real news, such as openings, expansions and community events. Then we send them straight to the reporters most likely to care.

🎙️

Podcast Guest Pitching

First, we find shows your buyers already listen to and pitch you as a guest. Then we help you prepare stories and talking points before you record.

🏆

Search Visibility From Coverage

Online stories about you sometimes link back to your site. Those editorial links can strengthen your search presence, with no paid links or shortcuts.

🏆

Honest "As Seen In" Proof

When an outlet covers you, we help you share it on your website, emails and social posts. Of course, we only list outlets that actually featured you.

💼

Story and Angle Development

To start, we interview you about your work, your customers and your community. After that, we turn what we hear into angles a journalist can use.

How It Works

How Our Public Relations Process Works

01

Story Development

First, we learn how your business works and what makes it different. Then we shape two or three angles that a reporter or host could actually use.

02

Media Research

Next, we build a focused list of local outlets, trade publications and podcasts that reach your customers. We also note what each contact has covered lately.

03

Pitch and Outreach

After that, we send personal pitches with a clear hook, plus a short press kit. As a result, reporters get what they need without chasing you.

04

Follow-Through

Finally, we follow up, prep you for interviews and share each placement across your own channels. We then review what landed and adjust the next round.

💡
Good public relations earns attention instead of renting it. When a trusted outlet tells your story, people listen differently.

Common Questions

Public Relations Questions We Hear Often

Yes, if there's a real story. Local news sites need community stories, trade outlets need expert voices, and podcasts need useful guests. Still, no one can promise coverage, because editors make the final call. What we can promise is sharp angles and careful, personal outreach.
It depends on your story, your market and the news cycle. A timely angle can land within weeks. However, steady coverage usually builds over several months of consistent pitching, so we plan for the long run.
Yes. We write releases for genuine news and send them to relevant reporters with a personal note. That said, a release works best as support for a pitch, not as a replacement for one.
With ads, you pay for the space and control the message. With earned media, a journalist decides whether and how to cover you. So coverage is harder to get, but more believable. Many businesses use both, and we always keep sponsored content clearly labeled.
Only with their permission. We get written consent before sharing any customer story. For healthcare practices, HIPAA also applies, so we only use patient stories with a signed HIPAA authorization. Law firms also need to follow New Jersey's attorney advertising rules whenever a story touches client results.
It depends on how many angles we pursue, how many outlets we pitch and whether you want podcast pitching too. So we start with a free consultation. Then you get a clear quote before any work begins.
